Hillcrest customer Rachel modeled some of her favorite Buffalo Exchange finds, while we chatted about her personal style, favorite finds, and style evolutions.
Q: How long have you been shopping at Buffalo Exchange?
A: A long time, I moved away for about 10 years and just came back to San Diego 3 years ago. When I would come to visit my mom I would visit the Hillcrest Buffalo Exchange.
Q: What has been your favorite Buffalo find?
A: The black dress I got a really good deal on it. It is a very expensive dress from Anthropologie.
Q: How would you describe your fashion style?
A: Eclectic vintage, I like to mix old and new items together. Some things are better when they are older. I like to look for clothing that is well made, good quality, and fits well. I think you should be comfortable and have things that work for you
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: Take my dogs to the beach, work out, and ride my motorcycle. I got a custom Harley Sportster for my Birthday in July. I have been learning to ride and getting over the fear of falling. Facing a fear is empowering as a women to know you can do anything.
Q: How has your style changed over the years?
A: As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten more comfortable in my own skin. I care less about fitting in or being trendy and more of what I love.
Q: What would be your dream or fantasy item, something you have been looking for forever and would love to find here?
A: Vintage designer pieces.
Q: Is there anything you want to add:
A: I don’t go to a bar during the day. I come here, it’s like my Cheers, and everybody knows your name. The people that work here are like a family. When I had a cast on my leg they would offer me a chair and stuff.
